Realizing the human record was not going to be broken, pops and D decided to support me.

Ship ain't easy...

I got three paw blow outs!

Three of my paw-paws got blisters, and I was sore for three days, bed ridden and resting.

The night before I bombed DV, I drove up to Packer saddle and bedded down on the ground at the trail head. I swear I heard a bear stomping around and snorting my food or the human food. Soo-kay tho because I growled 4 hrs straight. More like a constant grumble. I had too because pops was sleeping thru most of it. Although, i got a kick when the bear got close and pops scrambled to get his shoes on and getting ready to squeal like a little girl.

All whilst Dimiti farts and and sleeps thru the adrenaline rush.

</sniffle></sniffle>

Dag Holiday Calendar

National Puppy Day
March 23

International Guide Dag Day
April 28

Prevention of cruelty to Animals Month
April

American Humane Association Be Kind to Animals Week
First Week of May

National Bring Your Dag to Work Day
June 25

International Homeless Animals Day
August 26

American Humane Association's Adopt-a-Dag Month
October

National Mutt Day (My favorite)
December 2

National Mutt Day is about embracing and celebrating mixed breed dogs. They are the number one type of dog you'll find in the shelter because pure bred dogs, on a national level, are generally taken much better care of, as they come with a price tag and are often used for show or breeding purposes.

The biggest percentage of dogs euthanized each year are medium to large mixed breed dogs. Often they're used to protect property and for nothing more. Many die from neglect such as starvation, illness, dehydration, chaining and inclement weather due to poor shelter.

There are millions of loving and healthy mixed breed dogs sitting in shelters, who are desperately searching for a new home. One of the county's most famous movie dogs is Benji, is a mixed breed Terrier.
Mixed breed dogs are no less great than pure bred dogs. They are friendly, faithful companions that can do all of the jobs purebred dogs can do, including being therapy, police, guide, assistance, herding, agility, and flyball dogs. Many people believe that mixed breeds live longer and have better temperaments than pure breeds. Whatever the case, there is a mixed breed dog out there for everyone.

So please visit your local shelter and find a new friend today! If you can't adopt a mixed breed friend on December 2nd, please donate at least $5 to your local animal shelter, as they all need financial assistance and every dollar counts!

My Dag Doctor

After the tick bite, I got a veterinarian referral from Sage, Odi who see Jennifer Lawrence DVM and Tex, Cali who see Sharla Ansorge. Since Sharla is aiming to be an avian specialist, I figured I'd see Dr. Lawrence.

I weigh 40.7 lbs, got blood tests, had my tick bite shaven, and got heart and bug medicines.

Dr. Lawrence says to apply a hot rag 1-2 times daily to the tick bite, which will help bring any infections and crud to the surface and then apply Neosporine and mix it with cortisone on a paw tip and mix it between fingers before applying. The cortisone should also keep me from licking the bug bite, says the doc.

Check out this sheep tick on Uncle Jake, back in 2004.

Mountain Biking

YEE-HAW!!!

I'm a natural rider.

I've upgraded my bike from, MFRB which is a single speed beach cruiser, to Hippy Dui which is geared heavy grocery getter, to a cyclocross who is a fast efficient city rig, and now I'm riding mtn bikes with the crew, ON DIRT.

I still have the car sickness problem getting to the trail head, but once I get there, I'm in doggy running heaven. I can run as fast as humans up the hill and I can hang on the twisty single track descends.

The other day, we were bombing down Canadian Bacon near Demo, when I stepped on a rolling 3 inch stick and wipped out on my side and belly. I kept running, but later that day I found a scuff on my belly. Mtn biking is a rough sport.

But then....

I just found out, ticks are lurking in the shrubs and grass.

I've got six ticks in three rides, and I've infected the whole house with poison oak. PO is nothing compared to being sucked dry by ticks. Pops, Jamie, and Danielle got five of those ticks off me, but one got overlooked on my front elbow, near the crease. It sucked until it died and infected my skin. It's infected now, I can tell by the hole left in my skin with green/yellow crud oozing from it. I've been licking the hell out of the sore spot left, and now I'm feeling sick.

Symptoms are:
*Lay in bed all day
*ignore my favorite toy "Cyclops"
*loss of appetite
*"Poor Me" puppy eyes and a heavy head

I'm going to see my new vet soon and I'm nervous.

Edible Grass

<img style="display: block; Hmm?

This sucks because I've waited my whole life to see the Pacific Ocean. Now, I have to figure a way over the curvy hwy 17 Santa Cruz mountains. I dread the drive, but I dream of licking salty water and running on the sandy beaches. I'm here every day in training boot camp to break one of my most difficult challenges in public.

That is chasing little furry animals.

The boot camp consists of running 2-3 miles with MFRB before going to the park. Then dad leaves MFRB on edge of the park and we walk up to all the furry animals and watch from a distance. I watch them have fun while i shiver in angst to chase. Eventually my curled tail is not so curled and it starts straightening out before I sit down and relax my neck and toe muscles.

I have to hold the "Simma Down Nah" position for 5 minutes.

Only after my claws are extracted from the earth in anticipation of an attack and my muscles are relaxed; will I be allowed to move from my position.

Moving position is not what I call fun either because all we do is move to another shady tree area where other squirrels are running around. Again, I stiffen up and not allowed to move until I "Simma down nah".

Some moon lit nights, when dad gets home from dinner and drinks, he likes to walk to the park when there is no other dags or furry animals to chase. We go to middle of the park and he lets me completely off the leash. I can hit max speed and run crazy fast circles until I burn out.

The other thing I'm struggling with is "Venga" or come on command when off the leash. "Venga" is a spanish word picked up from the Vuelta de Espania and other pro road cycling race coaches. The race coaches hang their head out the support car window shouting at their riders "VENGA!!! VENGA!!! VENGA!!". Obviously, the word translates to come in english. When there are no distractions, we practice by touching dad when he says "venga" and then I run another circle in the moon lit park. We are just getting started on "venga", because I need to learn "simma down nah" before I can master "venga".

Ride Bikes...

I'm getting the hang of this...

Kind of...

Except, this one time....

In boot camp...

AHH HA! It took me a couple of days to figure out how to walk on the side walks and a few more days in open fields.

Meet my new family.

Uncle Jake

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v13.nonxt3.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3D3e929cb57291c14c%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1331959236%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D82D51CB6203AF4684FD841C167627084A19F6B25.23576D759F2A959686DA4EBAD98F96A7E8207086%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D3e929cb57291c14c%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3D6SCI1d5G-JQog0eATInY80YEoBc&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

Cousin Jester

and my best friend Mutha F*cking Rust Bucket (MFRB)

By day two, late night I was cruise'n on the beach cruiser. I got tiered of smelling dag pee and walking. I needed speed. The first night was brief ride under a mile, but it was the first time I ran at full throttle in months. After I figured out how to ride, I went for laps around the neighbor hood. I'm guessing I've already run 20 miles. It's the only thing that keeps me sane, relatively calm, and without it I'll end up getting into trouble.

Hola! Unfortunately, I didn't find a loving family here. Maybe because of the down economy, strict renting rules, or who knows.

I was on the green mile. I saw the green carpet leading to the "youth in asia" room. Scary!!!

Luckly Copper Dreams foundation found me and a bunch of my other compadres who were also looking homes. We were transported in small boxes in a dark and bumpy ride up to the bay area. We didn't know where we were going.

I ended up at a foster in San Leandro, CA home and separated from my other compadres. I don't remember much from my first foster home, other than the nice comfy bed they gave me. THANKS! Even though we didn't stay together, I appreciate you taking care of me.

Scary Mary was my 2nd know foster home. She loved me at first, then abandoned me after i chewed up my leash, damaged furniture, and constant barking due to my separation anxiety problems i'm working on.

I'm now living with my new dad as of 11/30, 5pm.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ginjiblogg.blogspot.com/2009/12/introduction.html' title='Hola!
